When the Atlanta temple was closed, we were so thankful to have the Birmingham temple only a few hours away. This painting was commissioned by a friend whose daughter was married during this time. Gordon B Hinckley has said, “You will come to know that what appears today to be a sacrifice will prove instead to be the greatest investment that you will ever make.” The extra drive to Birmingham, AL was a small sacrifice compared to the blessings of the temple.
